#Simon Asher Levin
Prof. Simon A. Levin, the 2005 Kyoto Prize laureate in Basic Sciences received the National Medal of Science on January 22. The Medal was established in 1959. It is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to science and engineering.
Professor Simon Asher Levin received the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement on April 25. The Tyler Prize was established in 1973 as one of the world’s first international environmental awards. It is awarded to individuals who have made significant achievements in the fields of environmental science, environmental health and energy. Professor Levin was highly commended for his research elucidating the complexity of and relationships between species and ecosystems. At the award ceremony on April 25, 2014, Professor Levin was presented with a check for US$200,000.
