The 2025 Kyoto Prize Commemorative Lectures were held on November 11th at the Kyoto International Conference Center, with 1,300 attendees.

The laureates of the three categories: Dr. Shun-ichi Amari in Advanced Technology, Dr. Azim Surani in Basic Sciences, and Dr. Carol Gilligan in Arts and Philosophy took the stage to reflect on their achievements and life journeys.

After each lecture, interviewer Mayuko Ishii (former NHK announcer / freelance) asked questions such as what they always keep in mind while conducting their research and whether they have any tips or methods for finding their own research questions. The audience listened attentively.
